Emergency Fundraising

Emergency Fundraising

On the 20th October 2023, the farm was hit by storm babet, and she did some serious damage.
The storm flooded all five acres of the farm, killing several rare breed ducks and chickens and destroying both our bee hives.
The flood waters also washed away our outdoor kitchen, composting toilet and bell tent. All of which were set out along with bushcraft equipment for an event on the 21st. We lost it all.
Our safe area for the horses and sheep during winter was severely damaged, and will have to be lifted and replaced.
Our stables, barn and office flooded, destroying animal feed and further equipment. And of course leaving the animals with limited shelter.
We got the majority of the animals to safety, and they remain safe. But our losses were not inconsiderable.
We now face a long process to replace what was destroyed and rebuild the housing, and the colonies of bees and birds that were lost.
Two years of community work that was undone in a matter of hours.
We can not do this alone, and so we are asking anyone who is able to donate, to help us rebuild and reduce the possible impact of further flood damage by pledging to this crowdfunder As long as funding is available, any community donations will be double match funded, meaning if you donate £5, it will be match funded and we will receive £15.
Any help given will have a real impact to our project and we thank you for your support.

Making a donation.

As a not for profit community interest company, we are very appreciate of people waiting to support our work. Not only for the welfare of the animals which is of course paramount to us, but also because without you we are not able to reach the people in need of mental wellbeing support.
Every animal and every member of our community has a story to tell, and it is only by bringing them together that great change is possible. but that comes at a financial cost.
We do run regular fundraisers both online and as events.

We also offer all our animals up for fun adoption. so if you would like to make a regular, and real contribution to our services, and the welfare of the animals, You can!

Details of all available animals can be requested by dropping us a contact message.

Other ways you can support us, are by sharing and liking our social media posts, sharing our events, or attending open events. Booking on to our upcoming public events such as Buzzcraft, Unigoat hiking or Bee keeping experiences.
Or maybe if you work for an organisation or company who are looking to support staff wellbeing, contact us to see what corporate team building activities we have to offer.

Every penny we trade goes back into supporting the animal welfare of our residents and the mental health support of our community.

Farm Produce

Supporting us could also mean supporting our farm shop produce. We sell at our events, our farm gate, and through a local socially focused business providing small farm products to smaller households in the area.

  • We are working to produce our own home grown chicken and duck eggs, when these are available you can purchase them from our honesty box at the farm gate.

  • Working with a new socially focused shop in Ilkeston we are proud to be able to supply veg and eventually honey and other produce for their shelves.

  • Coming soon! Courtesy of our Urban Worm family of tiger worms, a beautifully crumbly natural, organic compost. And raw fleece gardening products, water keepers and slug protection.

  • Hand made felted goat milk soap, created with our own fleece.
